The goal of Spring Break Arts Camp and Summer Arts Camp is to encourage and reveal the talents of every student to highlight the impact the arts have on young children in developing their creative skills, social interactions, and cultural awareness.
Fees for the week are $135 for the first child ($125 for CAC members) with a $5 dollar discount for siblings. Camp runs from 9 am – 4 pm with an early drop off and late pick up option for an additional fee of $10 each. The registration deadline is Monday, March 21.
During the Summer Arts Camp, artists will work with each student on specific projects within their discipline that reflect and expand on a common theme addressed by all the teachers. The four main artforms that will be explored are 3-D art, 2-D art, Theater, and Music. The camp concludes with a Celebration of Success, in order for families to enjoy a final performance and debut of all of the work the campers work toward through the week.
The CAC continues to implement best practices set forth by the CDC and State guidelines. Classrooms will be kept clean, hand sanitizing stations will be provided, masks or facial shields will be worn, temperatures will be checked upon arrival, and the park itself offers plenty of space to spread out and stay separated.
“ART-portunity” scholarships will be made available to campers by recommendation from their schools. “ART”-portunity scholarships have been graciously donated by The Hud Truck and Kaiser Permanente. We thank you!

The Douglasville Police Department has invited surrounding local and state agencies to participate in a law enforcement recruiting event. Several agencies will be present and looking for job candidates on the front lawn of the Douglasville Police Department. We invite all interested in a career in law enforcement to show up and meet with surrounding agencies to find the best fit for them. Bring your resumes and your friends and see where your career in criminal justice can lead you.
The Easter Bunny is stopping by Hunter Park for breakfast and wants you to join. During breakfast the Easter Bunny will be hopping around visiting with guests while sniffing around for carrots. Following breakfast hundreds of Easter Eggs will decorate our lawn for children to run and collect. The egg hunts will be separated into three different age groups (0-4 5-8, & 9-12) and special needs egg hunt. There will be prizes for golden eggs, raffles, and candy. This event is $8 per person / children 3 and under are free – must sign up when registering.
The Douglasville Police Department invites local youth pastors/leaders to participate in a summit on topics impacting todays’ youth. Our staff would like all churches and religious affiliations to send a representative that works with the youth in the organization to come and get educated, so that they can take it back and talk with their congregation. The summit will be an understanding of criminal street gangs, gangs defined, gang laws, and other kinds of criminal activity. Let us help you help our community by teaching you what to look for.

On Saturday, April 23, the Douglasville Police Department will be holding our spring Community Yard Sale. We invite you to repurpose your old items and find new treasures. Spaces will be rented at $10 per 12×12 grass area/parking space or $25 for triple the grassy area space (36×12). Multiple spaces can be purchased together and you can request to be next to someone. Space may be limited due to number of applicants. This event is RAIN or SHINE and will be held outside.

Do you have old or expired medications? Douglasville Police Department has partnered with the Drug Enforcement Administration, Douglas County Water & Sewer Authority, and Keep Douglasville Beautiful during the DEA Pill Take Back Day to help you clean out those medicine cabinets.
No questions asked, no forms or ID required. Liquid and pills are accepted. You can leave your medications in the original containers or empty them into a sealed plastic bag.
NO SHARPS (this defines needles, epipens, etc) OR INHALERS will be taken at this event, just medications.
